Three simulations, three industries, three completely different mechanics — built end-to-end in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for college-level Career & Technical Education courses. Each one puts a learner inside a real decision, not a page of text about one.
Content here is intentionally secondary — these examples exist to demonstrate simulation architecture, interaction design, and branching logic.
Case 01 / Health Science
Field: Biomedical Science — Health Communication & Data Ethics | Format: Branching Broadcast Simulation
A student steps into a working newsroom as an Investigative Health Reporter, chasing a story about a treatment program's suspiciously strong outcomes. Five scenes move in real time — assignment desk, source interviews, a conflicting-data moment, a final edit room, and a live broadcast — with a genuine editorial choice at Scene 3 that determines what the student is working with in Scene 4.
The build includes a pulsing "live" indicator, a scrolling rundown sidebar, and a teleprompter-style script assembly interface — the goal was to make source evaluation feel like a newsroom deadline, not a worksheet.

Field: Construction Technology — Structural Systems & Applied Math | Format: Iterative Spec-Verification Simulation
A student takes on the role of Framing Lead for a window opening that already meets spec — until it doesn't. Two Change Orders arrive mid-build, each revising the opening's dimensions, and the student has to re-check the Header Span Table and Cripple Stud Table against the new numbers rather than carrying forward a previous answer.
The mechanic deliberately punishes assumption: reusing a prior selection without re-verifying against the current spec produces an incorrect build. It's a small, honest simulation of how a change order actually behaves on a real jobsite.

Field: Cybersecurity — Incident Response & Risk Management | Format: Branching Decision-Based Crisis Simulation
A student assumes command of a live ransomware incident at a fictional hospital network — a ransom note surfaces via a deliberately hostile "hijacked terminal" interface, and every decision from there feeds two visible, moving meters: Financial Damage and Reputational Damage. A first decision sets the overall response strategy; a second forces a disclosure call once the exfiltration threat proves real. The simulation closes with a rated debrief and a decision log unique to the path taken.
Built around real incident-response tradeoffs — OFAC sanctions exposure on ransom payments, backup immutability, HIPAA breach-notification timelines — so the "right answer" isn't obvious, and the debrief ties the outcome back to actual industry practice.
